Poster Child
Poster Child is a song about attempting to change old patterns, belief systems, and behaviors in order to break through into new awareness only to find yourself trapped in the gravity of fear and delusion. Will I continue to be the poster child of insanity, trying to change by not changing anything, or will I finally try something different?

Johnny Blackthorn's music explores the spaces between reckoning and release. His blend of Americana, Folk, and Rock draws on the grit of Johnny Cash, the spirit of Bob Dylan, and the restless honesty of Bruce Springsteen, while carving out a voice all his own.

For Blackthorn, songwriting is less about finding answers than about asking the right questions about change, forgiveness, and spirituality. His latest single Poster Child marks the beginning of a new chapter, produced in collaboration with John Edward Ross at Studio Sassafras in Houston. The result is an expansive sonic world with unflinching songs that leave space for the listener to reflect, and carry the story forward in their own way.
